The Terms of Use (“TOU”) are specific to this website (“Website”). By using the Website, you agree to the practices set out in the TOU.
As the information on the Website may be incomplete, inaccurate and may contain inaccuracies or errors, the Comprehensive English-Yiddish Dictionary (“CEYD”) reserves the right to update the Website in its sole discretion. Such information may be changed or updated without notice.
CEYD reserves the right to make changes to the TOU. CEYD will post changes to the TOU on this page and may also notify you by e-mail.
To use the Website, you must register an account and be signed in on that account. Registration requires an active e-mail address. CEYD requires this as protection against abuse. In addition, CEYD uses a combination of automated and manual means to detect abuse, including detecting suspicious usage patterns not consistent with the TOU.
Your account is comprised of a username and password (“login credentials”). Each account may only be used by a single individual. Sharing of login credentials for this site is expressly prohibited.

You may use the Website for any lawful, non-commercial purposes.
You may not misuse the Website (including, without limitation, by hacking).
Use of this web site is only allowed by use of an Internet web browser via manual interaction. Extracting data from this site through automated requests, also known as “web scraping”, is expressly prohibited.
The data generated by this web site as well as the companion book Comprehensive English-Yiddish Dictionary is protected by copyright. CEYD may use a combination of automated and manual means to detect and prevent abuse. CEYD may, at its sole discretion, terminate any account for any reason or for no reason, but CEYD only intends to do so if it detects abuse of the service. If an account is closed due to abuse of service, no refund or compensation is due to the account holder, but if CEYD chooses to compensate the account holder, in all cases it will be for not more than the amount paid by said account holder.
CEYD respects the protection of intellectual property rights. If you believe that any content on this Website infringes your copyright and you wish it to be taken down, you must send written notice by email which includes:
- the signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner;
- identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a list of such works;
- identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing that is sufficient to allow CEYD to identify and locate of the material;
- your contact information, including your address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

You agree that use of the Website is at your own risk. CEYD does not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted or free from errors nor does CEYD make any warranty as to the results that may be obtained from the use of the Website.
Under no circumstances will CEYD be liable for any damages that result from your use of the Website.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless CEYD from and against all claims, liability and expenses, including attorneys’ fees and all categories of costs arising out of your use of the Website.
Although CEYD will not bombard you with email notices, you agree that CEYD may email you if there is an issue with your account or if there is a major development to the Website.
CEYD may terminate this agreement and your use of the Website at any time. CEYD also has the right to immediately terminate your use of the Website if you breach the TOU, or if CEYD considers your conduct, in its sole discretion, to be unacceptable.
The TOU and any disputes arising under it or through your use of the Website will be governed exclusively by the laws of the United States of America and the State of New York, excepting their conflict of laws principles. You consent to the exclusive forum, jurisdiction, and venue of federal and state courts located in New York, New York in any and all actions, disputes, or controversies relating to the TOU or your use of the Website.
